Maand folk music

Mand originated in Jaisalmer. Mand developed and flourished in the feudal era. Mand singing is a traditional singing style in folk music. This slow serious melodious singing sung in court and the feudal environment was adopted generation after generation by disciples but it lacks Gharana tradition. At present, the artists performing Maand Gayiki reside in Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Barmer, Jodhpur, and Jaipur. Mand style and 'Kesariya Balam songs have become synonymous with each other. Self. Gawri Devi (Bikaner), self. Hajan Allah Zillah Bai (Bikaner), Gavari Devi (Pali), Mangibai (Udaipur), Mrs. Jamila Bano (Jodhpur), Mrs. Banno Begum (Jaipur), etc. are famous Mand singers.
